Let’s Ride!

Let’s Ride! is a school-based program that provides second graders at Title I schools with their very own bicycle and helmet. Our goal is simple: remove barriers to movement and empower kids with a tool that supports physical health, independence, and joy.

This program is built to meet kids where they are, partner with their schools and communities, and make cycling accessible to every child—not just those who already have access to gear, safe spaces, or the means to participate.

Every dollar moves us closer to our $100,000 goal to fully fund the Let’s Ride! bike give.

The Access Gap Let’s Ride! Addresses

Many Title I students face barriers to independent outdoor play, daily movement, and safe mobility outside of structured school settings.

Limited access to independent mobility
Many students do not own a bicycle or the equipment needed to ride safely, limiting their ability to move, play, and explore their neighborhood on their own.

Few age-appropriate opportunities to build bike skills
Schools often lack the equipment and resources needed to teach bike handling, safety, and confidence during PE or enrichment programs.

Cost and access barriers for families
The cost of bicycles, helmets, and basic maintenance places cycling out of reach for many families, contributing to unequal access to physical activity and outdoor play.

The Let’s Ride! program closes that gap in a tangible, immediate way.

How Let’s Ride! works

School Partnership
We partner directly with Title I schools to identify participating second grade classrooms. Our team manages planning, equipment, and day-of operations, making participation easy for schools while ensuring every student is included.

Bikes & Equipment
Every child has the opportunity to receive a brand-new bicycle and a properly-fitted helmet. Bikes are selected for durability and ease of use, and every student receives the same model for consistency and safety.

Take-Home Ownership
Each student takes their bike home at the end of the day, giving them a tool for movement, outdoor play, and long-term health.
