A New Chapter at the Steve Tilford Foundation
Introducing Our New Program and Development Director
My name is Kent Woermann, and I recently joined the Steve Tilford Foundation as Program and Development Director.
Cycling has played a central role in my life, from racing alongside Steve to building Move Up Endurance Coaching and the Move Up Cycling Club in Kansas City. That background shaped how I think about the sport and the role it can play in people’s lives.
In this role, I will be leading the Foundation’s program development and helping guide future initiatives as we continue to expand access to cycling. The work ahead is focused on building meaningful opportunities for riders at every level, with an emphasis on creating clear pathways for youth and growing the impact of STF in the communities we serve.

Developing Tomorrow’s Pros
The STF Development U23 Team continues to grow with new structure and support. Our focus is simple — helping talented young riders reach the next level of competition.
This season, riders earned podiums in elite fields, received invitations to the EuroCross Academy, and even saw Severin McCarter receive an invitation to race in the Netherlands (he begins his travel this week). Behind them is a group of dedicated mentors — Bill Stolte, Shadd Smith, Garrick Valverde, Joseph Schmalz, Dallas McCarter, and Hannah Tell — who bring decades of experience to every practice, race, and trip.

Expanding the Pathway
Our partners over at STF Racing, led by Raylyn Nuss, continue to raise the bar for professional cyclocross in the U.S. With a renewed focus on growing women’s racing, the team has been a powerful force on the national stage — both in results and in inspiration.

What’s Next
We’re working on a bike-give program we hope to launch in 2026 to help get more kids on bikes — and we’re also developing a new event at Snake Farm that will bring together racers, families, and the broader community to celebrate everything we love about cycling in a fun, unique way.
